Grants distributed by Saastamoinen Foundation and the COVID-19 outbreak

The outbreak of the coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, has rattled Finland and the entire world. This has lead to many changes in all sectors of our society.

Many initiatives related to art, science and society supported by the Saastamoinen Foundation may have to restrict their operations or postpone events. Due to the exceptional circumstances caused by the outbreak, using the grant for its original purpose might not be possible. However, despite these likely cancellations, Saastamoinen Foundation finds its extremely important that all of its partners and grant holders follow the orders and restrictions given by the Finnish government and authorities.

Understandably, the rapidly flared-up epidemic puts many of our grant holders in a difficult position, which is why we encourage them to contact the Foundation proactively with concrete amendment proposals. Should the current situation prevent your initiative from operating normally, you can send your grant amendment proposals to apurahat@saastamoinenfoundation.fi.

Despite these challenging circumstances, the Saastamoinen Foundation wants to ensure that art and science will continue to prosper in Finland also in the future. Together we can make sure that innovative projects will keep developing the Finnish culture and science also in the coming years – so let us take care of each other!
