SomeBuddy helps victims of cyberbullying
SomeBuddy is an AI-assisted digital legal service for anyone who has encountered bullying, abuse or threats in social media. SomeBuddy helps to report cyberbullying easily and provides a SomeBuddy Survival Kit with legal advice and psychological first-aid.
SomeBuddy was founded in 2017 by friends Suvi Uski, Minttu Salminen and Jenny Rontu, who wanted to combine their fields of expertise with the desire to create good in society. They created SomeBuddy, a service that harnesses AI to ensure access to justice for all social media users. In October 2017, SomeBuddy received a funding of EUR 500,000 after placing second in the national Builders of the Century idea challenge. Saastamoinen Foundation participated in the funding of the challenge and has supported SomeBuddy as their service has expanded. As their next step, SomeBuddy is set to launch the service in Sweden in November 2019.
