Saastamoinen Foundation also aims to promote children’s experiences. With the Foundation’s support, Lastenkulttuurikeskus Lastu, a children’s cultural centre operating in the Pohjois-Savo region, encourages local children and families to engage with art and culture.
The Foundation’s strong support for Yrityskylä began in 2009 and at about the same time a decision was made to initiate long-term funding projects for Lastenkulttuurikeskus Lastu, which sets up diverse activities in schools, child day-care centres and at children’s events, among other projects. The core aim of all activities is to enhance the wellbeing of children and young people in ways which strengthen their sense of inclusion, encourage their artistic endeavours, and inspire them to care for the environment.
